The Fusion GPS file that was gathered on President Donald Trump, in order to stain his presidential campaign back in 2016 was evidently a lie. But, nevertheless, liberals are still using it as a political weapon.
Just this week, Dianne Feinsten released the testimony of the founder of the Fusion GPS.
A report from The Hill read :
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.), the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, on Tuesday unilaterally released more than 300 pages documenting an interview the panel conducted in August with the founder of the opposition research firm that commissioned a controversial dossier on President Trump.
The report continued to say that in the interview, Fusion GPS co-founder, Glenn Simpson allegedly said that the author of the dossier was a former British intelligence officer named Christopher Steele, and he informed Simpson that the FBI already had “other intelligence” that backed up claims in the dossier.
This file has been a crucial point in the congressional investigation in the possible ties with Russia and the U.S. presidential election.
Some Republicans even claim that the FBI used substantiated information to start the nonsense investigation into Donald Trump. The President and his lawyer weren’t very happy about this.
The file is not at all trustworthy and that makes it even less interesting. But what is interesting however, is the question how did the file get in the hands of the Obama Administration and whether or not they used it as a reason to spy on Trump and his team.
There is some new information regarding this issue and it looks like John McCain is looking pretty bad in that picture.
According to Breitbart:
The founders of the controversial opposition research firm Fusion GPS admitted that they helped the researcher hired to compile the infamous, largely discredited 35-page dossier on President Donald Trump to share the document with Sen. John McCain.
Reportedly, the Fusion GPS founders clarified that the aim of handing the file to McCain was to forward the information to the U.S intelligence community which was under the Obama administration.
This revelation poses the question whether McCain was familiar with the information he transferred to the intelligence community, and whether he knew that it was in fact an opposition document that was allegedly founded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.
McCain’s office gave no comment on this issue.
A report from WSAU explains why is this important to us. They say :
Because, If a known opposition research firm, that is working for the Hillary campaign, approaches you, then McCain would have known that she was behind this document. Yet, he would have been willing to pass it on as credible intelligence?
If that turns out to be true, a logical conclusion is that John McCain’s hatred for Trump drove him to do a despicable thing.
This is precisely the case. It is no news to us that McCain isn’t Trump’s biggest fan. And despite the President’s comment about McCain’s military service he has no excuse for such behavior. As for now McCain hasn’t given any comment on these reports, which means we’ll have to wait and see how all this plays out.
