Native American Actress and Activist Sacheen Littlefeather has passes away at seventy-five on Monday.

She was best known for declining the best actor Oscar award on behalf of one of the greatest actors Marlon Brando.

After that Oscar incident, Actress Sacheen Littlefeathe was blacklisted from the entertainment industry.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences declared her demise on Monday in a post shared on Twitter.

Their tweet was "Sacheen Littlefeather, Native American civil rights activist who famously declined Marlon Brando’s 1973 Best Actor Academy Award, dies at 75”.

While no reason for death was quickly given, Littlefeather revealed in a Facebook post in January last year that she had metastasized breast cancer.

Sacheen Littlefeather's short speech, for which she wore a buckskin dress and moccasins, was met with a mixture of boos and applause.

In August, the Academy officially apologized to Littlefeather for the abuse she encountered during her discourse and in the years that followed.

David Rubin, the former Academy President said in a letter to Sacheen that the maltreatment she got through was “unwarranted and unjustified.”

Replying to that letter, she said "dream come true, We Indians are very patient people, it’s only been 50 years."

Last month, the Academy facilitated an occasion at a film museum in Los Angeles that highlighted Littlefeather as a keynote speaker close to other Native entertainers.
