A baby girl Aroohi, her parents and her uncle were found dead in a central California orchard 2 days after they were kidnapped at gunpoint.

Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke said "Our worst fears have been confirmed," on a Wednesday night news conference.

Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke did not release any information about how and when they were killed.

Sheriff Vern Warnke said the victims were near to each other when found by a farm worker in a remote area.

The announcement came after authorities released surveillance video of a man kidnapping 4 family members earlier Wednesday..

Authorities said they were taken by a sentenced robber, who attempted to commit suicide the day after the kidnappings.

48-year-old Jesus Salgado was in critical condition when arrested but has been talking to police, said County Sheriff.

Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke said No motive for the kidnapping has been established so far and we'll find out soon.

The Family members are 8-month-old Aroohi Dheri; her mother Jasleen Kaur, 27; father Jasdeep Singh, 36; and uncle Amandeep Singh, 39.

The 4 family members were taken from their business in Merced to southeast of San Francisco in the San Joaquin Valley, California's agricultural heartland.
