After a video showed him carrying a gun at a Denver club while intoxicated, Morant left the Grizzlies and joined a counseling program in March.

Following a meeting with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, Morant received a suspension of eight games.

Morant had multiple off-court problems last year. A high school recruit sued him following a confrontation in Morant's backyard informal game.

After the Grizzlies lost in the first round of the playoffs, Morant said he had to be more focused.
