Peloton Recalls 2 Million Bikes

Because of a Potential Safety Risk Posed by the Seats, Peloton Is Voluntarily Recalling Roughly 2.2 Million Bicycles

Because of potential safety risks, Peloton is voluntarily recalling almost 2.2 million exercise bikes from distribution.

The company that makes exercise equipment has issued a recall for the second time in the past two years.

Bikes with model number PL01 that were sold in the U.S. between January 2018 and this month are being called back.

Peloton got 35 reports of the seat post breaking and coming off the bike while it was being used.

There were 13 reports of people falling off the bike and getting hurt, including 13 broken wrists, cuts, and bruises.

Consumers are told to stop using the bikes right away and to call the company for a free repair.

Peloton is providing customers with a free seat post that may be installed by the customer themselves.

Peloton reported more than 150 incidences of humans, pets, or objects being harmed or killed on its treadmill to regulators.
