England vs Colombia: The quarterfinal stage of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup came to an end on Saturday at Sydney’s Stadium Australia as England outlasted Colombia.

Australia and England will now square off on Wednesday in a heavyweight showdown.

Throughout the whole game, Colombia produced great opportunities, including many from 18-year-old wonder Linda Caicedo, demonstrating why they are more than just a tenacious underdog.

The Lionesses, who were already shorthanded going into this competition owing to the absence of several important players and the suspension of star forward Lauren James, were propelled to their third consecutive Women’s World Cup semifinal appearance by clutch goals from Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo.

Just before halftime, Hemp capitalized on a mistake by Colombia goalkeeper Catalina Pérez to score England’s much-needed equalizer.

The little prodigy once again displayed her talent in the box while being surrounded by defenders for England, but the Lionesses were able to stop her from taking a shot.
