Putin recently wrote an article titled “Russia and Africa: Joining Efforts for Peace, Progress, and a Successful Future,” in which he discussed the rise of these new “centers of economic and political power & influence,” They call for acknowledgment.
According to Putin, a new multipolar international order with already visible contours will be more democratic and just.
Additionally, according to Putin, this altered structure of the global stage will enable other nations to “assume [they] rightful place in it and, by rejecting its contemporary practices, finally free [themselves] from the sad heritage of colonialism and neo-colonialism.”
The common ground between Russia and Africa was also mentioned by Putin, who said that the two continents were “pulled together by a shared aim to create a system of relations that prioritizes international law, respects national interests, recognizes the indivisibility of security, and values the United Nations’ important role in coordination.”
