On the penultimate tour of his career, Elton John completed what he claims was the final performance Saturday night.

According to his website, the renowned, award-winning musician performed on stage for ostensibly the final time as a traveling musician in Stockholm, Sweden.
The British music superstar said, “What a journey this tour has been and now that we find ourselves at the end of it,” in the caption of a video he posted to his official Instagram account on Saturday. The last night is tonight.
An excerpt from the musician’s 2018 interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, during which he announced his decision to stop touring, is included in the video. In the video, John states, “I will no longer be performing and traversing the world.
The “Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour” for the five-time Grammy winner began in 2018, but the Covid-19 outbreak caused it to be delayed until 2021. After more than 50 years of touring, this is his last tour, according to media reports.
According to John’s Instagram video, the tour included more than 300 performances and more than 6 million people from all around the world attended. The 76-year-old singer chose Glastonbury Festival his last stop in the UK on his farewell tour.
In an interview with Cooper in 2018, John explained that his decision to prioritize his family led to his retirement from the touring life. With her husband David Furnish, the musician has two sons.

He said to Cooper at the time, “In 2015, after having children and making other changes to our lives, we sat down with their school schedule and expressed our concern that we would miss too much of it.”
Even though he had finished touring, he continued to concentrate on new music, he stated at the time.
