So, to review, here is what happened:

At the end of the first quarter, the Packers had a 3-0 lead over the Rams.

The Packers got to choose first and elected to defer. When he kicked off, Mason Crosby tied Brett Favre for the most games played in a row with 255. At the Los Angeles 20-yard line, Innis Gaines made a tackle on Brandon Powell.

On consecutive run plays, Kenny Clark avoided a sack by separating from two double teams and making one tackle for a loss of two yards. On third-and-15, Baker Mayfield hit Van Jefferson with a pass for 17 yards. However, on the Rams’ next third down, Green Bay’s Preston Smith sacked them for a loss of eight yards, halting the drive dead in its tracks. In Smith’s last nine nighttime games, he has recorded nine sacks.

The Packers got the ball rolling at their own 32 and moved it forward with an 11-yard completion to Romeo Doubs for the first down. The injury kept the fourth-round pick out of action for four games. Green Bay advanced into Los Angeles territory on the strength of a 9-yard run by Aaron Jones and a 7-yard stretch run by AJ Dillon.

The ball was passed to Doubs again, this time across the middle for 11 yards and a first down at the LA 18. Jones moved past John Brockington into third place in franchise history for rushing yards on his 10-yard carry. With 4 minutes and 25 seconds left in the first quarter, the Packers went up by three points on a field goal by Crosby from 34 yards out. A total of 12 plays were used during the 6-minute and 14-second drive that covered 52 yards.

On first down, Kingsley Enagbare recorded his third sack of the season, taking down Mayfield for a one-yard loss. He also contributed to the three-and-out by breaking up a screen pass intended for Tyler Higbee on third-and-11.

With 28 seconds remaining in the first quarter, Taylor Rapp picked off Rodgers.

At the half, the Packers lead the Rams by a score of 10-6

The Rams drove inside the Packers’ red zone, but Preston Smith pressured Baker Mayfield into throwing an incomplete pass that Quay Walker nearly picked off. As the clock ticked down to 10:41 in the first half, Matt Gay kicked a field goal from 33 yards out to knot the score at 3.

On a third-and-3 slant, Aaron Rodgers hit Randall Cobb for 12 yards to kick off the Packers’ third series. Green Bay advanced to the Los Angeles Rams’ 24-yard line thanks to completions of 17 and 14 yards to Dillon and Cobb, respectively. After a 6-yard pass to Cobb, Green Bay opted to go for it on fourth-and-3 from the LA 17, and Dillon converted the first down by drawing the defense’s attention.

The Packers regained a 10-3 lead with 4:26 remaining in the first half after Dillon bulldozed his way in from 8 yards out. It took 11 plays and 6 minutes and 15 seconds, but the third-year running back accounted for 39 of the 74 total yards.

On the next series, Quay Walker blitzed and got a strip sack of Mayfield; LA recovered, but they lost nine yards. After three consecutive incompletions, the Rams settled for Gay’s 55-yard field goal after Mayfield completed a pass of 15 yards to Van Jefferson to get the first down.

With 37 seconds left in the first half, Green Bay regained possession at its own 13. Jones gained six yards rushing and an additional twenty-three yards on a screen pass. However, Rodgers would be fired if the Hail Mary play was attempted.

It’s the third quarter, and the Packers have a 24-12 lead over the Rams

To start the third quarter, Rodgers hit Doubs on a slant for 10 yards and Christian Watson over the back shoulder for another 10 yards. Rodgers then evaded Bobby Wagner’s blitz and hit Dillon in the flat for 17 yards. Immediately following that, Rodgers completed a pass to Watson in the middle of the field for 15 yards to the Los Angeles 13-yard line.

Jalen Ramsey was called for illegal contact on Watson on third down, giving the Rams a first down at their own 4-yard line. With 8:04 remaining in the third quarter, the Packers extended their lead to 17-6 after Dillon punched in a 1-yard TD two plays later.

After Walker’s 2-yard tackle for a loss on first down, the Packers were able to force a three-and-out. The rookie surpassed the century mark, becoming the team leader in tackles. After a 7-yard checkdown to Akers on third-and-17, LA was penalized for holding and forced to punt.

Despite Keisean Nixon’s 17-yard return, the Rams gained only nine yards thanks to a personal foul called on Russ Yeast. The Packers took over at the Los Angeles 35 and immediately called three runs by Jones, resulting in 14 yards gained by the Pro Bowl running back. First and goal from the Los Angeles 7 after a pass of 14 yards to Marcedes Lewis.

With 2:31 remaining in the third quarter, Green Bay’s lead grew to 24-6 after Jones scored on a 7-yard catch and run after receiving a block from Watson. With the score, Jones became the first Packers running back since Dorsey Levens to record at least five receiving touchdowns in consecutive seasons (1996-97).

Starting with a pass of 18 yards to Brandon Powell, the Rams came roaring back. Later, Akers made a season-long 19-yard run to the Green Bay 10-yard line. Mayfield threw a touchdown pass of 8 yards to Higbee at the end of the 6-play drive with 22 seconds left in the first quarter. As a result of Gay’s wide right miss, the score is now 24-12.

Nixon brought the ball back 52 yards, to the Los Angeles Rams’ 48.

Defeating the Rams by a score of 24 to 12, the Packers prevail

Watson was flagged for defensive pass interference on Troy Hill, costing his team 16 yards to start the final quarter. On Monday night, after Rodgers was sacked for a 6-yard loss on third-and-10, the Packers punted for the first time this season.

On second-and-10, former Ram Justin Hollins and first-round pick rookie Devonte Wyatt combined for a sack of Mayfield. After the Rams went no-huddle, Mayfield was picked off by Rasul Douglas, who had also intercepted Mayfield twice on Christmas Day in 2017 at Lambeau Field for the Packers. Adrian Amos picked up Douglas’s attempted lateral at the Rams’ 34.

After gaining 13 yards on the ground, Jones fumbled the ball, giving it back to LA. As a result of his recovery, Jalen Ramsey advanced the ball 12 yards to the opposition’s 30-yard line. After the fumble, the Rams were penalized for a facemask and had to start their next possession at the LA 15 with 10:55 left in the game.

It was a deep pass to Atwell, and Amos was called for defensive pass interference, which advanced the ball to the Green Bay 41. Then, Smith recorded his second sack of the game for a 6-yard loss. Third-and-16, Kenny Clark flushed Mayfield out of the pocket, but Rob Havenstein was called for holding. With 9:09 on the clock, the Rams punted after a 1-yard scramble gaining them no ground.

AJ Dillon was removed from the game due to a possible concussion. Running back Patrick Taylor, a second-year player who came in for Dillon, gained 5 yards on a run up the middle on second-and-1. The play started after a timeout, and Doubs caught the ball over the middle for 23 yards to the LA 49. Rodgers found Watson on a play-action rollout for 13 yards after two Taylor runs gained 9 yards.

With his 14-yard gain, Jones advanced the ball to the Los Angeles 12-yard line. At the two-minute warning, Watson caught a play-action pass that went for 8 yards. On fourth-and-2 from the LA 4, the Packers went for it, and Jones came through with a rushing gain of 3 yards, giving the team a first down.
